With the buoy 10 season not opening until August 14 I have had a great time fishing at home in garibaldi.  Such a great mixed bag this time of year and the crabbing right now is off the chain! We have had days we are getting coho salmon, halibut, sea bass, ling cod, cabazon and crab! What more can you ask for in a mixed bag day.   I expect a great season for salmon and do have a few open days in sept and October. Don’t miss out on the fall hawgs we are sure to see! Bottom fishing and halibut remains good in garibaldi. While weather and wind has made it tough some days we have been finding great number of fish. Coho and chinook fishing has been picking up with lots of great action. Some days finding the right hatchery fish can be hard but plenty of action to keep us busy.  Talk about amazing crabbing right now too. The ocean crabbing is amazing we had 50 keeper crab in 4 pots today. The crab are about 50-70% full but very sweet and easy to crack.  I still have some great weekdays open end of […]

So far the 2017-2018 steelhead season has been off to a good start. The Columbia river has had one of the worst years for steelhead since recording data. Luckily we are talking about steelhead Fishing in the Tillamook area and it’s looking promising! I have been fishing a lot of days already this season I started just after thanksgiving and each trip has been consistent, with my best day being 12/27. We landed 6 fish today, 4 of which were hatchery fish we could keep.  We missed a few opportunities and lost a few. That’s why they call it Fishing […]

Tillamook Bay Fishing Report June 8th 2017

Fishing Tillamook Bay the past the past few weeks has been a lot slower than expected. It could be the large tides of the Pacfic we are having or the full moon. What ever the cause, fish are not moving into the bay like normal, hopefully they are stacked up just off the coast. I will keep fishing for these amazing fish thru the month as June is typically peak season here in Tillamook for spring chinook. The thing about fishing is that the fish don’t follow the calendar. Fish move based on water conditions, temperature, flow and weather conditions […]
