So far the 2017-2018 steelhead season has been off to a good start. The Columbia river has had one of the worst years for steelhead since recording data. Luckily we are talking about steelhead Fishing in the Tillamook area and it’s looking promising! I have been fishing a lot of days already this season I started just after thanksgiving and each trip has been consistent, with my best day being 12/27. Fishing Tillamook Bay the past the past few weeks has been a lot slower than expected. It could be the large tides of the Pacfic we are having or the full moon. What ever the cause, fish are not moving into the bay like normal, hopefully they are stacked up just off the coast. I will keep fishing for these amazing fish thru the month as June is typically peak season here in Tillamook for spring chinook. The thing about fishing is that the fish don't follow the calendar.
